Blog Post 6

The key factors that contribute to  our plant's growth include sunlight and rain which are main factors in the role of photosynthesis. Through photosynthesis the plant gains natural energy from the sun converting water and carbon dioxide into carbohydrates. These carbohydrates then become either leaves or fruit which can be consumed. The plants biomass will increase as the leaves and fruit do. By cell division the plant is taking nutrients from the soil and goring rapidly.

Enzymes involved in photosynthesis include PEPC and Rubisco,  because of these enzymes the plants activation energy is higher in the light than in the dark where there is no sun. These enzymes speed up chemical reactions which take place in the plant's cells and as create ATP molecules or a nucleotoid which has a large amount of chemical energy.

Sunlight and rain contribute to the growth of our plant.  The plant uses the energy it gets from the sun through the process of photosynthesis. During photosynthesis, plants will use the sun's light energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into oxygen and carbohydrates. These carbohydrates are basically the plant leaves and fruit, which are consumed by people and animals.  As the plant's leaves grow, the biomass of the plant will increase. Biomass is a measure of the amount of organic matter. Our plant is also taking nutrients from the soil and growing through the process of cell division.

PEPC and Rubisco are enzymes involved in photosynthesis. That means that the activity of these enzymes is high in the light and low in the dark. These enzymes speed up chemical reactions that take place in the cell and they also create ATP molecules. ATP is a nucleotide that has a large amount of chemical energy .

Our plant is getting bigger and is not wilting those are signs of life. the plant looks like it has been getting enough water and sunlight so it has been getting bigger. photosynthesis is how out plant turns sunlight into nutrients. Our plant should keep growing until it is a foot tall.

1 weather and temperature

2 our plant is fighting for water and sunlight with the other grasses and plants.

3 when a plant loses the struggle it will be over crowded and will not recieve enough sunlight or water. the plant can die or stop growing.

4 When the grass around our plant dies it gives our plant nutrients which it needs to survive.

5 The smaller plants around have stopped growing because our plant over shadows them. The bigger plants succeed over the smaller plants.

Blog Post 3

The plants look fine but they do have some hole on the leaves. They look like they were eaten by some insects. I think they may be caterpillars or larva. The plant are looking really big compared to how they looked last week. The plants use the water to be able to provide sustenance for itself. So by it staying alive it uses us humans for the next part of the cycle. The plant takes in the Carbon Dioxide and produces Oxygen which gives us air to breath. So the cycle repeats again, we breath the air and breath out Carbon Dioxide so the plants take it in and produce air again. The plant uses the Carbon Dioxide to make its self healthy, so the plant looks healthy. The plants take in the nitrogen and use it to produce proteins and nucleic acids. This provides food for the plant making it stay alive.

Blog post 3

The plants look a bit under watered but they will recover in a few days if they get enough. The plants are about 3 inches tall and getting bigger. There signs that insects have been eating the plants most likely caterpillars larvas and butterflies. Other than that the plants are doing great.

The plant have grown since the las time we observed them. The plants look dry and seem to lack the sufficient amount of water needed. Insects most likely caterpillars have been feeding of the plants. The plant uses water to grow. The water contributed to how it looks now. The plants make the carbon that cannot be used useful again , but are only useful to itself. The carbon, like water contributed to its growth. the plants are active with the nitrogen cycle by making it useful for us. the plants to benefit from the carbon after it is useful again. so that is what made it grow.

Blog Post 4

  Some of the abiotic factors in which the plant depends on is water. Water in the key source of life, without water there is not life, plants take in water to the roots or leaves and feed of this. Sunlight is also another abiotic factor that plants depend on, sunlight allows photosynthesis to occur with the plant, plants grow from the sunlight. One other nonliving factor that plants depend on is the soil, obviously without soil plants cannot grow, it is the home of plants. The biotic factors that plants depend on include worms, although these creatures are often seen as useless they are the ones that provide soil for the plants to live in, they create the homes for the plants naturally. The worms dampen the soil and make it better suitable for plants to live in.

   You tell that the plants are engaged with competition with each other, they can compete for space and water, and sometimes sunlight if another plant is covering its source of light. I can tell because some plants are larger and growing at a more rapid rate than others.

  I see two obvious observations that tell you which plant is winning in competition, by its size, and how green it is. The winner is larger and greener while the looser is smaller because photosynthesis has not occurred as rapid because of the lack of sunlight or water, the looser will also be not as green and more of a yellow complexion or dark green depending on the plant. It can be difficult to determine who has won or lost the competition because of the slight difference in color, size, and amount of soil. One way you can determine it is using measuring instruments that can calculate size or even color.

 An other form of interaction is parasitism this can be observed when the plants of holes throughout their leaves, this is due because of the caterpillars feeding on the plants for food. One other interaction is mutualism between both the plant and worms, the worms create a better environment with the soil and the plant creates a home or shade for the worm.

 There is more of a secondary succession occurring because the plants are growing rapidly, the environment has gone from only soil to completely full of plant life.
