About our Project
Our project is meant to teach us about plat life. During this project we will figure out how plat life relates to the rest of life. Another Reason for this project is teaching how to work in teams. and we will have a living thing to take care of as a group through out the year. By the end students will be able to communicate with each other.

We are expermenting with a cabbage variety known as ''Copenhagen market''. The species are Brassica Oleracea. I understand that the actual head of cabbage is inside the plant like a flower. The parent plants must have looked about the same but are slightly larger. The parent plants might have been grown in a large garden with a lot of room to grow. There were probably not too many competitors growing in the same environment as the parents. I can predict what will happen with the baby cabbage and what they will look like due to what their grandparents and parents look like. They will acquire all traits from the plant parent whose genes are dominant, so there will be other genes that are dominant over that plant. Genetic information transfers from plant to plant .The new chloroplast can be transferred to the next generation and allow small amounts of cytoplasm and cell organelles to pass from one cell to another. The baby plants might have a few different features if the other plant that was paired with looks a little different. Even though they are being grown closely together, they were still born from different parents so they might have a few different features depending on who their parents are. The different forms of it came from meiosis or the transferring of genes.

The plant has not only grown its leaves and stems, but in addition there are more holes from the caterpillars which have consumed parts of the leaves. I have also noticed that there are more leaves and roots that are inside the soil. In order to observe whether or not the plant is still alive you can measure the amount of water there is on the leaves, you may also measure how green the plant is.

Tylers Seed Story
Tyler says that he learned that growing plants is hard. Tyler was surprised how fast the plants few and how big they got. Tyler laughed that some people transplated the plants wrong and they died. Tyler said that the plant could just generate biomass out of the air and water.
How Does Your Garden Grow?
The plant is getting bigger because when it goes through cell division it makes more and more cells which make up the tissue of the plant. This makes its biomass increase. They also use photosynthesis to fuel them selves and take the energy from the sun and use it for its own use. Lastly they also use respiration to transfer the carbon dioxide to oxygen. If the plant needed an enzyme it would send an order to start to produce it and the cell would start to make it.
blog post 8 Owen's Seed story
Owen learned plants have a very interesting life. He was surprised the plants grew so fast and got so big. Owen thought it was funny when bugs ate other peoples plants. Owen thought interesting how the plants competed over sunlight and water.
Blog Post 8 Mateo's seed story
Interview
Mateo has learned how to plant vegetables how how critical plants are to our life.
Mateo was surprised by how many elements are involved in plant growth.
What made Mateo laugh was how rapidly they grew in such a short period of time.
Mateo thought a little deeper on how class lessons were involved on plant growth.
Mateo wondered how plants defend themselves against other competitors.

Our plant is growing through cell division. When our plant absorbs enough nutrients the cells inside divide and the plant grows. our plant uses photosynthesis to turn sunlight into energy. it has been raining recently so our plant looks healthy and is standing strong. Our plant uses respiration to turn carbon dioxide into oxygen.

The plant is surely alive, it looks better than last time we saw it. Last time it looked weak and small. Now, even though it has holes in its leaves it has grown really big and looks healthier than ever. Its roots also has expanded more because i can see them moving to other plants area. The plants are big and and look very bright green, not a pale green like last time.

Some abiotic factor that effect our plant is the type of weather, location, and competition. Some biotic factors are insects, other plants, and the care it gets.
I know the plants are in competition because some of our plants look healthier than he others. The plants are competing for water, sun light , and space to keep growing. The competition is the other plants because they also want the resources to live.
The winners in this are the plants that live and survive, the ones that loose are the ones that die because they're not strong enough. It's not always clear who wins and who looses. It's sometimes complicated to tell because the plants sometimes look healthy but aren't.
The other interaction that the plant has is when it reproduces. This is important because the whole point of an animals life is to reproduce and get more of its kind.
The garden is going through primary succesion because there was already soil but then it grew into more plants and became a garden.
